Kevin O'Connor re-appointed to the FL DHSMV Advisory Board

ORLANDO, Fla. - June 28, 2016 - PRLog -- Dealers Insurance Services LLC would like to announce that Kevin O'Connor has been appointed to a new term on the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' (DHSMV) Automobile Dealer Industry Advisory Board. Kevin is the only insurance industry representative to hold the board seat since its formation in 2000.

The board was formed to make recommendations on proposed legislation, make recommendations on proposed rules and procedures, present licensed motor vehicle dealer industry issues to the department for its consideration, consider any matters relating to the motor vehicle dealer industry present to it by the department, and submit an annual report to the executive director of the department and file copies with the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

         Kevin O'Connor has been specializing in the insurance needs of the automobile dealer industry for the past 24 years. He spent 19 years with a national broker managing the Florida operations of their non-franchised auto dealer program. He purchased the program in 2005 and it continues to be considered the gold standard in the industry. He has a long history of involvement in the automotive industry. As the Insurance Agent of Record of the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association he spend over 10 years there until resigning in 2005 to focus on his new company.

In addition to his reappointment to the Automobile Dealer Industry Advisor Board, his company has launched a website aimed at the Florida auto dealer bond market.
