U.S. National Video Game Team® co-owner featured in new film

Iowa's Tim McVey - a charter member of the original Team - headlines new movie 'Man VS. Snake'
OTTUMWA, Iowa - June 23, 2016 - PRLog -- In 1984, Ottumwa, Iowa's Tim McVey became the first gamer in history to score over 1 billion points on a video game. To honor his acheivement, he was awarded the key to the city and a civic day in his honor. Now, in 2016, McVey's story is being told in a new film entitled Man VS Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler.

In 1984, McVey was a charter member of the U.S. National Video Game Team® for his billion point accomplishments. Today, he is the co-owner of the attempt to revive the original concept alongside veteran gaming advocate Patrick Scott Patterson. In Man VS Snake, he also duels with another former Team member in Dwayne Richard, who is attempting to snatch McVey's old world record away before he can reclaim it himself.

The film has received numerous awards on the film festival circuit en route to it's long awaited release. It will be available tomorrow, June 24, on a variety of streaming platforms including Amazon Instant Video, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and VUDU.

This marks the second major happening for the U.S. National Video Game Team® reboot this week. On Sunday, Patterson hosted a USNVGT competition in Plano, Texas on the classic Joust arcade game, featuring a final exhibition game from John Newcomer, the creator of the original game.
