Heads Up, Race Fans - Milan Dragway to Host 2016 Aeroquip Heads Up Racing Series on July 1st

DETROIT - June 22, 2016 - PRLog -- On Friday, July 1, 2016, Milan Dragway will host the third race in the 2016 Aeroquip Heads Up Racing Series.  The Series features a variety of cars that will hit Milan's record-breaking track to compete for top honors at speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour!

The successful and popular Heads Up Series has been running strong for over a decade at Milan Dragway.  Billed as the new-age version of old school racing, this six-race Friday Night Series draws Drag Racers from across the country, because it's a highly competitive run that is known to showcase  the fastest drivers; many of whom have posted their personal best times at Milan Dragway.

"July 1^st is a night drivers and race fans don't want to miss," said Deneen Baxter, Vice President of Milan Dragway.  "Not only is the racing exciting and wicked-fast at this event, but the pit area is full of energy!  Racers and crew buzzing around to get their cars ready for next round, spectators roaming about to see what the racers are up to in the pit and staging areas, concessions and picnic areas full of people snacking on everyone's favorite track foods - the whole experience is very fan-friendly, and we have a spectacular fireworks show as our grand finale to this amazing night of racing!"

Baxter said there is more excitement around this third leg of the Heads Up Series because the purse has increased by nearly $3,000 in the Mechanical Heating and Cooling Run "What Ya Brung class", and the field has doubled in the Unlimited Truck and Trailer class with one of the highest nightly qualifier pay outs of the season.

Racers that night will look to record the top speeds in an attempt to knock off current quarter-mile point leaders in the following classes: Run What Ya Brung - Dave Sullivan, All Motor- Brian Wolfe, Outlaw 10.5- Mike Barackman, Drag Radial- Mike Barran, Motor City Muscle - Tony Veresuk, and Open Comp - Chelsea Hinton.

Admission for the 2016 Aeroquip Heads Up Racing Series on July 1^st is$20 for spectators, just $10 for women, and children 12 and under are free!  Spectator gates open at 2pm, qualifying starts on the track at 2pm, and eliminations begin around 7:30pm.  This event will run until at least midnight.
