Avwatch names Ray Chaney to Operations Team

Chaney, a resident of Alpine, California, will operate from the greater San Diego area.  He brings 30 years of emergency command experience with CAL FIRE, the third largest fire department in the nation, to his post with Avwatch.  Chaney served as one of 12 Incident Commanders in the state of California, leading an Incident Command team through numerous major events.

Chaney's extensive experience in large-scale disaster management, coordination and training includes service with distinction in the 2003 Cedar Fire, Hurricane Katrina and the 2007 fire siege that struck southern California.

His positions while at CAL FIRE included Battalion Chief of Technology Development and Battalion Chief of Special Operations.  Most recently he served as Fire Chief of the San Miguel Fire Protection District.
