EU privacy laws help UK IT Company double in size in just 12 months
As a result, the company saw a sharp upturn in sales activity, which resulted in the business doubling in size in just 12 months. Organisations from all sectors opted to choose SmartSurvey for their survey needs, as data transfers to the US, and potentially even data held in the UK by companies which are headquartered in the US were not viewed as compliant with the EU's standard of data protection.
"It has been a phenomenal achievement by the whole team", said Company Director, Mo Naser, who started SmartSurvey with his father and brothers in 2010. "We have doubled the size of the business since June 2015, with no outside investment, and have ambitious plans to expand into global markets over the next five years."
Launched in 2010, SmartSurvey has rapidly grown into one of the leading online survey software suppliers. With company servers based in Europe, ISO27001 certification and registered under the Data Protection Act, the company has become a widely recognised and trusted by a large number of government and public sector organisations.
SmartSurvey is used by over 100,000 SMEs and multinationals, including some of the world's leading brands across all sectors. SmartSurvey software allows for the design, capture, reporting, and analysis of virtually any type of data and is a trusted supplier to a wide range of governmental, educational and commercial organisations.
Growth has come organically by listening carefully to what customers have asked for. "Our development team provide customers with the solutions they need", said Mo. "All advancements and upgrades to our software are done in-house, meaning we can respond quickly and seamlessly to any requests or gaps in the market. 'User-friendly' is our mantra continued Mo. "Our customer support is second to none and our friendly, knowledgeable support team, based in the UK, are always on hand to solve customers' problems".
In December 2014, SmartSurvey was named as one of the UK's top 100 digital businesses after being selected to attend the first-ever summit of a new global network called 'D5 London', hosted by the Duke of York at Buckingham Palace. The event, attended by some of the most digitally advanced governments in the world, showcased only the very brightest digital companies and SmartSurvey was chosen because of its status as a Government G-Cloud approved supplier.
