DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - June 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Have the Perfect July 4th in Delray Beach

(Delray Beach, FL - June 20, 2016)  It's about time to come out and celebrate America's birthday in Delray Beach, the best 4th of July celebration in South Florida. Located on A1A and Atlantic Avenue, this free event will feature a live concert by Daya, where she will perform her latest hits including Hide Away.

Family activities at this year's 4th of July celebration in Delray Beach will include the Kool 105.5 Splash Zone and dunk tanks, a Kid's Corner hosted by the Avenue Church with face painting, craft activities, photo booth and a giant community mural.  Adults can cool down at the Beer Garden hosted by Burger Fi, Caffe Luna Rosa, and Boston's on the Beach. There will also be a custard eating contest for kids and a burger eating contest for adults courtesy of Burger Fi.

July 4th celebrants are also encouraged to sign up for the sand sculpting contest sponsored by Delray Marketplace and hosted by the Help Our Wounded (HOW) Foundation. Free family beach games will be available from noon to 8pm at the Delray Marketplace tent on the beach near the Sand-sculpting contest.  Kids can challenge their friends to a game of putt-putt at the Putt'n Around mini golf course. Fireworks begin at 9 pm, launching from the North end of the beach  and simulcast by Wild 95.5.

New this year is the Localynx App Launch and Seek in the City mini scavenger hunt.  Visit the Localynx booth to enter, and you can win a weekend stay in Delray or a meet and greet with Daya courtesy of Wild 95.5.  Also fresh to the sand this year are Family Beach Games.

"We have kept everybody's favorite activities and added even more," explains Stephen Chrisanthus, Associate Director of the Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative.

Visitors can extend their stay in Delray Beach this July 4th Weekend by booking with Host Hotel, the Delray Beach Marriott.

By 1:30 pm, portions of Atlantic Avenue east of the Intracoastal Waterway and portions of State Road A1A near Atlantic Avenue will be closed in preparation for the 4 pm flag-raising ceremony featuring representatives of the U.S. military.

Live entertainment on the main stage starts at 4 pm and continues  throughout the evening.

Of course, the highlight of the celebration is one of South Florida's largest and longest fireworks shows, put on by Zambelli Fireworks and synchronized to music available on Wild 95.5.

The 20-minute show will feature more than 500 unique shells that are guaranteed to produce oohs and ahs from the crowd.

This year, the fireworks will be launched just north of the Delray Beach Marriott.
