Father's Day Weekend - Fathers Walk in High Heels to Support for Dress for Success Midwest

The Power Walk for Dress for Success Engaged Men and Families in Walking and Running 3 Miles to Empower Women Towards Self-Sufficiency

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - June 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Putting yourself in someone else's shoes takes on a new meaning this Father's Day weekend.  Fathers who had little or no practice, posed at the starting line trying to balance in high heels.  Among the group were Shawn McCrutchen Senior Vice President who just had his second child; Paul Hott, Vice President of Organization and Talent Effectiveness at RGA whose son who finished first in the youth division; Brad Lambert, COO & Co-Founder of Connections to Success (parent organization of Dress for Success Midwest) who has several sons; and Nathan Bursac, art teacher in Ladue School District and father of two. No ankles sprained, but a couple slipped Cinderella style.

The Power Walk for Dress for Success serves as a "walking testament" to the need for success-driven women to become healthy in all aspects of their lives. Studies prove that employees who exercise for at least 30 minutes, three times a week, are 15% more likely to have higher job performance, and 25% more likely when eating healthy.

The event shirt - designed locally by VIVE - displays a high heel on the women's shirt and a dress boot on the men's shirt along with uplifting words like "empower, success, hope, renew, transform, impact, overcome".  Many of the race participants noted, "This is by far the cutest race shirt I've ever gotten!"  Shirts are available for purchase online at tinyurl.com/ctsmarket.

Sponsors include Walmart, Emerson, Southwest Airlines, Missouri Foundation for Health, CBIZ, Nike, Express Scripts, Mercy, Civil Design, Five Star Auto and Carmax. Because of our community's generous support, Dress for Success Midwest will be able to provide suiting aboard its new MOXI Traveling Boutique, job training, and mentoring programs to over 1,200 women this year!

Says Kathy Lambert, CEO & Co-Founder of Dress for Success Midwest, "Today was a very special day as dads, moms and many others from our community proudly brought their families to encourage and affirm women that they are powerful beyond measure!"
