Follow on Google News | AML Wrestling Prestige Championship Tournament Preview/Part 2Part two of the AML Wrestling Prestige Championship Tournament preview.
By: AML Wrestling Just six short weeks after America's Most Liked Wrestling's tremendously successful and sold out cross-promotional card with Global Force Wrestling in Hickory, NC, AML Wrestling will be returning to High Point's Southside Recreation Center for another historic event. Sixteen of the most talented wrestlers in the region will do battle on Sunday, June 26 to become the very first AML Wrestling Prestige Champion. Four "four-corners" We've already broken down the first eight competiors in this history naking tournament. They are: former AML Wrestling Champion Caprice Coleman, Cedric Alexander with The Tommy Thomas, "Wrestler Extraordinaire" (In case you missed it, here is PART ONE of the preview https://www.prlog.org/ CALEB KONLEY. Most national observers believe Konley is destined for greatness, and the Charlotte, NC native surprised almost no one when TNA Impact Wrestling signed him to be a part of their roster. A tough-as-nails competitor who can both brawl and wrestle a scientific style, Konley is the pick of many observers to win the title. SEAN DENNY (with Mark Denny). Both members of the Geordie Bulldogs have publicly announced that their main focus is on AML Tag Team Champions Sigmon and Elliot Russell (collectively known as The Heatseekers) JOE BLACK. The cruiserweight sensation returns to AML with gold on his mind, and nobody wants to face him in the first round. Black is a fast-rising talent in his eighth year of active competition. He's already participated in an AML four-corners match, losing narrowly to Cedric Alexander (along with Axton Ray and Jordan Cage) in March. TIMMY LOU RETTON. This third-year pro has turned MANY heads in his short career, winning regional titles in North Carolina and Virginia already. Wrestling's only male gymnast has the agility and ring presence of a veteran, so I give him an excellent chance to reach the finals, if the draw works out for him. He isn't going to be the favorite, but most fans think he's capable of winning. JAXSON JAMES. This Westminster, South Carolina native has mostly competed in the AML tag team ranks, currently with fellow young lion Brady Pierce. This 25 year old up and comer needs just one major title win to raise eyebrows on a national level, so it will be interesting to see if the AML Prestige Title Tournament is the opportunity he needs. "PICTURE PERFECT" JORDAN KAGE. The Californian with an attitude problem has two big edges going into the tournament: Experience in four corners AML action (losing to Cedric Alexander) and the fact that few on the roster have any experience against him. He's brash and arrogant, but he also is cunning in the ring, with a fair measure of size and strength to go along with it. His relatively unclear profile make him a difficult foe for whom to prepare. "PRETTY BOY" RAPHAEL KING. King's best match was probably in a losing effort during the AML tapings at Wrestlecade IV last November, where he narrowly lost to current AML Wrestling Champion King Shane Williams. The injury last year to Scotty Matthews derailed the progress of the team he was building with King, and King has been searching for a new path ever since. King enters this tournament as an underdog but his style does lend itself well to an iron-man stint, meaning he can't be dismissed. JOE KEYS. One half of the Dixon Line tag team, Keys is accomplished as a singles wrestler in his own right. He might play to the unfamiliarity of the Carolina-based AML base, but that will depend on the random draw. A fine athlete, Keys is a dark horse to make the finals. If he makes the finals, anything can happen. Scott's Pick: Initial online buzz seems to have CAPRICE COLEMAN as the odds-on favorite, followed by CALEB KONLEY and CEDRIC ALEXANDER. However, I'm going to go against the odds and pick Jason Kincaid to be the first AML Wrestling Prestige champion.
