TUSTIN, Calif. - June 17, 2016 - PRLog -- On July 31 and August 1 in Boston, the Women Leaders in Education Conference (http://www.womenleadersineducation.com/index.html) will gather some of the industry's top thought leaders to share their insight with attendees. The program for the conference, which is produced by LRP Conferences LLC, is a combination of interactive, collaborative workshops and keynote presentations.

The workshop sessions will be facilitated by the creators of the conference, three former school superintendents: Dr. Carmella Franco, Dr. Maria Ott, and Dr. Darline Robles. Collectively, these three remarkable women have more than 100 years of experience in navigating education professional pathways.

Together they co-authored the 2011 book, A Culturally Proficient Society Begins in School: Leadership for Equity. This conference is the outgrowth of the many years they have each served as advisors and mentors to hundreds of women working in a wide variety of school settings.

Dr. Carmella S. Franco is a Search Associate with Hazard, Young & Attea, where she assists with superintendent searches. She recently completed her tenure as interim superintendent for the Compton Unified School District while the search for a permanent superintendent was completed. She was a founding member and a director of the Western region of the Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators.

Dr. Darline P. Robles is a professor of clinical education at the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education. Her primary responsibility is the development of a new national hybrid Master's degree program in school leadership. Dr. Robles retired after serving eight years as the first Latina County superintendent of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), the nation's largest regional service agency. As chief of the Salt Lake City School District from 1995-2002, she was recognized for raising student achievement. Prior to her position in Salt Lake City School District, she served as superintendent of the Montebello Unified School District in California.

Dr. Maria G. Ott started a new phase in her distinguished educational career when she joined the University of Southern California's Rossier School of Education. Previously she served more than seven years as superintendent of the Rowland Unified School District, leading the district through major instructional improvement initiatives and modernization of facilities. She is nationally known for establishing partnerships with private foundations in support of Rowland Unified and its strategic plan and efforts to reach high levels of literacy and raise student achievement.

Education industry icons Deb deVries, Kathy Hurley, Wendy LaDuke, and Ann McMullan will co-chair the event. "Helping women develop their individual professional roadmaps is something that I have enjoyed doing for over 40 years, and I am very excited to bring many of these professionals together in July," said Hurley. "Together we will explore how each individual can expand her leadership and address the latest trends and issues within the industry."

Keynote speakers will include the following:
Deborah Delisle, the executive director and CEO of ASCD;
Suhail Farooqui, the CEO of K12 Insight;
Sue Gendron, the president of the International Center for Leadership in Education;
Christine Johns, the superintendent of Utica Community Schools;
