NEW YORK - June 15, 2016 - PRLog -- The Topps Company, the exclusive trading card partner of Major League Baseball, returns with its second series in its annual release when 2016 Topps® Baseball Series 2 comes out on Wednesday, June 15. It will feature 350 more baseball players along with fantastic insert cards, and a chance to pull autographs and memorabilia cards from some of the top players in Major League Baseball.

The base set features stars such as Boston Red Sox's David Ortiz, New York Mets' Yoenis Cespedes and Angels' Albert Pujols, along with rookie cards of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Kenta Maeda, Minnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler and New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez.

However, the greatness of 2016 Topps Baseball Series 2 doesn't end there. Baseball fans will find commemorative cards dedicated to Ken Griffey Jr., who will enter the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, and Ichiro Suzuki, who is expected to get his 3,000th Major League career hit this season.

"2016 Topps® Baseball Series 2 offers so much content for baseball fans," said Clay Luraschi, Vice President of Product Development for Topps. "There are the base cards for traditional collectors, inserts for those looking for a challenge, and autographs and memorabilia cards to have fans feel closer to the game. There really is something for everyone to collect."

Also returning to 2016 Topps® Baseball Series 2 is a new set of First Pitch™ cards, the insert set commemorating the newsworthy moments of the notable people who threw out a first pitch before an MLB game in 2015.

Topps® Baseball cards have been a mainstay in American culture for 65 years and have featured many iconic baseball cards, including popular rookie cards and hard-to-find rarities. Topps continues to innovate trading cards, giving fans new and different ways to collect and appreciate cards of their favorite players and teams.
