Is a Huge Stockpile of Freeze-Dried Food a Doomsday Prepper's Holy Grail? Maybe Not

New website promises to teach lost kitchen skills of our ancestors to ensure survival in the event that people are separated from their physical preps.

MT PLEASANT, Texas - June 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Website owner and blogger, Margaret Staadt, has just launched website, www.thecomfortzoneprepper.com, in an effort to help people recapture the lost kitchen knowledge and skills of their ancestors and to facilitate finding answers to a prepper's food-related questions.

What is on a prepper's mind the most?

Armed with the knowledge that at least 90% (according to many reports) of the United States' population will be dead within a year after a major disaster strikes, preppers ask more about the subject of food on prepper forums than they do about any other aspect of disaster preparedness.  But specific food-related information can be hard to root out of a general prepper forum.

What sets the new blog apart from other prepper blogs?

1.       Easy access to specific prepper food topics - Unlike most prepper blogs, the new site addresses just the food aspect of prepping and categorizes the various food-related topics.

2.       A food forum for preppers - A forum that focuses on a prepper's food concerns is planned.

3.       Unusual, hard-to-find food topics -  Food topics such as cob ovens, foraging (finding wild edible plants), and aquaponics, which are foreign subjects to most modern people, are planned for the blog. Staadt doesn't plan to discuss hunting or fishing in her blog since those subjects are much more commonly covered subjects.

What people won't know will kill them.

Knowledge of the more archaic or unusual ways of putting food on the table, says Staadt, would be of great use and comfort when planning how to survive long term under medieval-like conditions that she says many preppers anticipate having to feed their families under in the not-too-distant future.  She quotes the saying that "the more you know, the less stuff you need." She says this lost knowledge would especially benefit and comfort city dwellers and people who cannot afford to stockpile food.

Staadt also states, "In the day of trouble the real lunacy of it all will be that most people will be killed by mobs, killed while attempting to steal food supplies from people, or else they'll starve to death because they are modern people who foolishly won't know that free food and medicine was growing under their feet in the form of weeds and grass and that just a few key purchases before the SHTF was all they should have made to be ready."

What does the website promote?

The affiliate website promotes informational products about edible plants and health.  It also promotes aquaponics how-to information, along with some general food-related and prepper items.  She plans to soon also be an affiliate of freeze dried food companies and of companies who sell archaic kitchen tools.

The site links to the website owner's online t-shirt store (www.cafepress.com/comfortzone61), which sells various commercial items with prepper and political themes printed on them.  It also links to the website owner's brand new online eBay store (www.ebay.com/usr/comfortzone61).
