Follow on Google News | Music4Charity Raising Money For Marie Curie palliative care nursesBy: Music4Charity The website at http://www.music4charity.weebly.com is an online music festival showcasing live performance videos from bands and singers, enabling music lovers to discover and watch artists of various genres perform, no matter where in the world they both are. Some of the videos are exclusive to the website, many are unplugged or acoustic performances, most are original songs, but there are also covers and tribute artists, and a Music Store of original music available on CD or as a Download. All music in the store has been donated by the artists and proceeds from sales of CDs or Downloads in the website Music Store are donated to Marie Curie. All the videos on the website at have "tip jars" which link directly to our JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/ There is new music being added to the website at http://www.music4charity.weebly.com almost daily and a few surprises being planned. Music4Charity was launched by Melanie Perrett who has many years experience in the music industry, and it is in memory of her husband Dave, to raise money for Marie Curie nurses, in appreciation of the care they gave him, following the heart-breaking and very unexpected diagnosis that he had a glioblastoma (one of the most aggressive brain tumours) in mid-January this year. He was fast-tracked home and despite a very brave fight, passed away at home on February 25th. Melanie says "I would not have been able to care for him on my own, but having Dave at home was what we both wanted, and so important to us. The care team helped me care for him 24/7 and treated us both with such compassion, respect and dignity, during the most difficult and emotional time. The Marie Curie nurses always had a smile for us both, a hug for me when I needed it, and never left until they were sure Dave was comfortable and pain-free. I will never forget their kindness, and wanted to give something back, to help raise money for them, so other people can benefit from their care, and to help me through my grieving process, which is still obviously very raw. I didn't feel ready to organise a fund-raising gig or festival (as many of my music industry contacts suggested) but I came up with the idea of an online equivalent, so Music4Charity was born! I hope that we can raise as much as possible for Marie Curie and their very valued work" All publicity, exposure, donations and contributions of music would be very much appreciated End
