Nashville Tech Start Up Takl Celebrates Idea-versary

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - June 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Nashville based Takl, Inc. today celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Takl app concept. The idea for the on-demand small jobs and chores app was born when co-founders Willis Johnson and Greg McCollum met for breakfast at Vittles Restaurant in Brentwood one year ago.

McCollum, a long-time contractor, had been mulling the idea of a handyman small jobs service when Johnson, a prolific jobs creator in previous enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of the sharing economy. A melding of minds over biscuits and gravy at Vittles Restaurant in Brentwood netted the idea for the Takl app.

The app, built in Nashville, is an on-demand home services platform that connects registered, background checked providers to users who want help with small jobs for a preset price. The company plans to grow the gig economy by putting thousands of people to work in the Nashville area as independent, self-employed providers utilizing the Takl platform. The business expects to go live with its first version in the greater Nashville area in mid-summer and will then expand regionally and on a national level in late fall.

Interested providers are encouraged to complete enrollment in advance to be ready to accept jobs upon the mid-summer launch.
