A True Entrepreneur - Stef Oostvogels

LUXEMBOURG - June 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Probably better know to the general public for his career as a lawyer (he started his professional career at the Brussels Bar in 1987, joined the Luxembourg Bar in 1990 and left the Bar in 2013), Stef Oostvogels is now active as economic consultant and independent director.

Spectacular Expansion

The Flemish speaking Brussels native arrived in the Grand-Duchy in 1989 and focused from the start on corporate structuring and cross border transactions. "It were exiting times", Stef says, "as the introduction of the first anti-drug traffic and anti-money laundering legislation made the Grand-Duchy even more salonfähig for international investors. At the same time, the Soparfi was launched and new horizons opened for sophisticated structuring".

On the back of a top tier private equity clientele Stef Oostvogels successfully expanded his firm, both in terms of manpower and specialization. "It was a pleasure leading the team and guiding the clients in those challenging times". For Stef Oostvogels the vision to open a London representation office - as a first mover - was obvious.

In the meantime Luxembourg acquired the status of place of excellence for international structuring. Successive legal reforms have provided Luxembourg with one of the most complete toolboxes available on the market. Non Executive Director

Early 2011 Stef Oostvogels left the legal profession to become, after a brief academic intermezzo (studying at LBS and INSEAD), independent director. Capitalizing on his earlier experiences, Stef continues to focus on private equity and real estate. Clients appreciate his common sense, legal experience, local knowledge and hands-on approach.

Personal Life

Stef Oostvogels describes Luxembourg as the optimal combination of opportunities offered by an international scene with the cosiness of a local community: a very attractive place to live. The Brussels born Belgian acquired the Luxembourg nationality in 2012. Stef enjoys leisure time with friends and family, and is in search of the right balance between a good table and adequate physical effort.
