Icon Coins Supports Shark Research with New Coin

WASHINGTON, N.J. - June 10, 2016 - PRLog -- With the success of our 40 Years of Fear collectors coin in 2015, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of JAWS, we heard from a lot of people around the world who were also interested in real life sharks.  One of the most common requests we received during that time was to do a special coin for shark research. We have selected Ralph S. Collier's Shark Research Committee to receive funding from this project to help the continuation of their ongoing work and dedication to the field of shark education and discovery.  Mr. Collier is a well known contributor to the field having founded the Shark Research Committee over 50 years ago.  His contributions have been consistent and plentiful in furthering the understanding of shark behavior and ecology.  Currently, the Shark Research Committee is developing a unique method of shark DNA research that will broaden the boundaries of various aspects of shark conservation.  Like many organizations, the Shark Research Committee relies on independent fundraising efforts to continue its work and we are happy to help!

Each 1.75 inch Limited Edition Collectors Coin is die struck in heavy solid brass with an antique silver finish and features a highly detailed 3D sculpt.  Only 2000 of these special coins will be minted worldwide.  Along with the coin itself, each shark enthusiast will also receive a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and a velvet coin pouch.
