SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - June 8, 2016 - PRLog -- The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center in Scottsdale (Arizona, USA) is offering free yoga classes on International Day of Yoga June 21.

This Jewish Center, also known as simply "J", will offer these free classes on June 21 from morning till evening in Yoga Flow, Restorative Yoga, Gentle Yoga and Power Yoga.

"J", whose tagline is "Relax. Rejuvenate. Connect.", offers variety of daily programs "to engage mind and bodies", from infants to seniors, including Family Yoga, Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Workshops, Private Yoga Training, Core Stress Release Yoga, Sunrise/Sunset Yoga, Power Yoga and Yoga Flow.

Welcoming the Jewish Center for offering free yoga classes on June 21 and organizing regular yoga training, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, urged all such community centers in USA to launch multi-beneficial yoga programs, including offering some free classes to low income enthusiasts.

Yoga, referred as "a living fossil", was a mental and physical discipline, for everybody to share and benefit from, whose traces went back to around 2,000 BCE to Indus Valley civilization, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, noted.

Rajan Zed further said that yoga, although introduced and nourished by Hinduism, was a world heritage and liberation powerhouse to be utilized by all. According to Patanjali who codified it in Yoga Sutra, yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the different elements of human nature, physical and psychical.

According to US National Institutes of Health, yoga may help one to feel more relaxed, be more flexible, improve posture, breathe deeply, and get rid of stress. According to a recently released "2016 Yoga in America Study", about 37 million Americans (which included many celebrities) now practice yoga; and yoga is strongly correlated with having a positive self image.  Yoga was the repository of something basic in the human soul and psyche, Zed added.

"J" claims to enrich "physical, mental and spiritual growth and builds connections among the Jewish community in Greater Phoenix through relationships and engagement". Jonathan Hoffer is its Board Chair, Stuart Wachs is CEO and Kim Subrin is the Managing Director.
