LOS ANGELES - June 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Fine Art Painter, Francine Tissot was selected by Sundance Cinemas Gallery of Robert Redford's Sundance Group for an exclusive exhibition at Sundance Cinema Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.

The artist's work was chosen from a group of local artists who submitted their work for consideration to Sundance via an exclusive partnership with StudioVox.

Francine Tissot's exhibition entitled "Insatiable Gaze" runs from June 19 through September 2016.  Tissot describes her work as abstract expressionism replete with unmistakable references to the lushness of nature.

Currently living in Los Angeles her first attempts at painting began in Boston under the guidance of artists, John Fusco and Earl Powell.

"I jumped into abstraction armed only with brushes and little info relative to space and the picture plane and less training in classical drawing and traditional painting," say Tissot.  "Added to that, an eye which was fast becoming educated beyond my hand, causing the bothersome inner critic to eventually sully my painting efforts."

Years later, having relocated to Los Angeles, Tissot resumed her painterly journey in earnest. She pursued representation, subsequently exploring abstraction and the break-up of space via color and form.

Her studies with noted California artists Robert Burridge and Reine River contributed to the shaping of her aesthetic and resulted in a series of exhibitions. She counts among the greatest influences in the development of her work, an affiliation with Santa Barbara artist Jill Sattler as well as her involvement with the Montecito, California-based women's workshop, Atelier 809.

Sundance Cinemas VP of Marketing and Gallery Curator, Nancy Gribler was drawn to Tissots work, "Francine's abstracts, have the essence of a beautiful bouquet," says Gribler. "Colorful and lush, it feels she's captured the shimmering light of walking through a garden on a summer day. We are thrilled to have her show at the Sundance Sunset."

President of StudioVox Amanda Slingerland agrees, "Francine's paintings are an energetic expression of color that to me speak of all things beautiful in nature, with unexpected surprises," she says.  "Her work creates a beautiful summer exhibition at the West Hollywood, Sunset Sundance Gallery."

Ms.Tissot has been a featured artist in numerous exhibitions in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura, California.
