June Exhibit at the Geary Gallery in Darien, CT

DARIEN, Conn. - June 3, 2016 - PRLog -- This June, the Geary Gallery of Darien is proud to present "Meditation on Landscapes" featuring the stunning outdoor landscape paintings of Stamford fine artist, Tim Eaton. His exhibit runs June 7 - July 7 at the Geary Gallery located at 576 Boston Post Road in Darien.

Featured Artist: Tim Eaton

A decorative painter for more than 30 years with a specialty painting and restoration business, Tim Eaton is also a devoted landscape artist.

Growing up in Maine, the outdoors was where Eaton spent most of his time and at a very young age was inspired to create his art.

After graduating from high school and during his college and young adult years, Eaton said he traveled the world painting watercolors en plein air primarily in France, as well as Italy, Turkey and China. Over the years, Eaton moved indoors to paint using modified oils, calling on his memory and imagination to inspire his work.

"In a studio, you can paint as long as you want and take as much time as you like," Eaton says. "I paint for myself. I don't paint for someone else's visual pleasure, but for my own satisfaction." Eaton's landscapes capture poetically harmonious moments in the natural world. "I study nature constantly. When I see a beautiful sky, I take a picture of it and use it as a mental reference."

Through years of trial and experimentation, Eaton continues to discover fresh ideas, compositions and a variety of techniques-all with the intention of creating visually appealing works to inspire a distinct emotional connection with his viewers. Most of his work is executed on archival linen or other durable substrates using a combination of colorfast acrylics and modified oils, thereby created to resist damage by sunliglht and other environmental conditions for many lifetimes.

Eaton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Vermont. He spent a full year under the instruction of Richard Whitney, who at the time was the youngest member of the Boston Guild of Professional Portrait and Landscape Painters. Subsequently, he spent two years studying painting techniques at the National School of Decorative Arts in Nice, France.

Eaton is a proud member of the trade group, Painting and Decorating Contractors of America, and has taught decorative painting and finishing techniques to trade groups across the country. Having moved to Stamford about five years ago from Westchester County, he is continuing to establish his restoration business in Connecticut while working wherever jobs take him.

The Tim Eaton exhibit runs June 7 - July 7, and his paintings are available for acquisition. All are welcome, and admission is free.
