Why I ditched the 9-5 and started a travel photography business

CAMDEN, U.K. - June 3, 2016 - PRLog -- "I was caught up in the mundane routine of working a 9 to 5 like most others in the corporate world", explains Aaron Burchett, owner of a start-up business called Pictrip. "I had graduated from University in my early twenties in graphic design but found a comfortable position within a Financial Services company, working my way up I ended in Project Management, I loved it".

"I enjoyed the job, loved my company and its benefits, met some great people and I had made a good impression on Directors enabling me to slowly work up the ladder. However, there was always a nagging thought in the back of my head that led me to believe I was able to achieve more and create something of my own, I just needed the right idea"

In 2012 Aaron took his partner to Venice for their anniversary, he had planned to take some stunning pictures to remember their trip, he even bought a DSLR. The reality was completely different. "We returned home and we had a few good images but none that truly represented the amazing tie we had. I wanted the kind of photos that you see on Instagram, beautifully framed, candid and showcased both us and our surroundings".

And so the idea was born, "wouldn't it be great to hire a local professional photographer that could get you those kind of shots. Someone that knows the area and all the best spots and can get you those shots that can be kept and cherished for years to come, generations even. Most importantly, the style would need to be contemporary; I didn't want these cheesy shoots you see of people in studios with awful backdrops, I wanted candid photography that felt current and worthy of social media".

Aaron sat on the idea for a few years and then started to make inquiries in early 2015, researching the market, contacting photographers, working out the operational side of things. In 2016 he took the plunge and went full time. " I decided that now was the time, I could sit on the idea and never pursue it or simply go for it and have no regrets, and that is exactly what we have done".

"We are proud of what we have achieved so far and are excited to see where the business takes us. We currently have photographers in 20 destinations worldwide who are producing some great photography for our clients and helping them remember their travels in which they wouldn't of been able to achieve otherwise".
