By: AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) After 42 matches played out four men's and four women's teams successfully notched three lakeside victories each on the day to earn a shot at the event's $150,000 purse. The men's teams that remain standing included three of the top four qualifying seeds : • · Paul Araiza & Alejandro Parra (#1 seed in qualifying) • · Maddison McKibbin & Riley McKibbin (#2 seed in qualifying) • · Avery Drost & Greg Weaver (#3 seed in qualifying) • · Kevin McColloch & Roberto Rodriguez-Bertran (#13 seed in qualifying) Waiting for them in the main draw are two-time Olympian Jake Gibb and his partner Casey Patterson who are not only #1 on the AVP Tour, but also #6 on the FIVB Provisional Olympic Rankings and therefore are destined to be named to TEAM USA on June 13 when the squads going to Rio will be announced. Also in the main draw are brothers Trevor and Taylor Crabb, third on the 2016 AVP Tour and bidding for their first-ever championship after several close calls, and Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers with his 7-foot tall partner, Robbie Page.
