CONROE, Texas - June 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Industrial and commercial real estate professionals gathered in Conroe last week to learn about a plethora of opportunities in the growing, business-friendly Conroe area. Industry leaders discovered the reason businesses are looking north for opportunity during presentations, site visits and professional networking at the 17th Annual Greater Conroe Allies Day hosted by the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council.

GCEDC Executive Director Fred Welch began Allies Day with a presentation discussing the current economic climate in Conroe. Information included updates and highlights on current and planned commercial and industrial developments, improving infrastructure, available incentives, and the qualified labor force available in the region. Welch also discussed successes of Conroe Park North and emerging opportunity for businesses to succeed in Deison Technology Park.

"Business is growing in Conroe and it will be evidenced today," Welch told the attendees. "We have a vibrant economy and plenty of room for new opportunities. Conroe is a great place to do business."

Shannon League, Director of Marketing with Johnson Development Corp., followed Welch with a presentation about Grand Central Park. League offered updates on the status of construction and planned openings of the phases at the 2,046 acre master planned community in Conroe. League claimed Grand Central Park will be a popular destination for residential living, retail, and dining as early as 2017. Residents and visitors will enjoy urban amenities, while still feeling the tranquil atmosphere that Johnson Development is determined to keep at the former site of Camp Strake.

"Conroe is in a position to thrive. Grand Central Park will only help boost the already tremendous growth happening in the area," said League. "Grand Central Park's appeal fits very well with the business and quality of life friendly atmosphere of Conroe."

GCEDC Deputy Director Danielle Scheiner led a bus tour featuring stops at Grand Central Park, Conroe Park North and Deison Technology Park. In particular, the booming development happening at Conroe Park North caught the attention of passengers.

"We have been fortunate with the economic success of our area. Conroe Park North is a great indicator of that. There has been immense, yet well-planned growth. We were able to show the Allies Day attendees the various types of development suitable for Conroe," said Scheiner.

Following the business end of Allies Day, the GCEDC offered their appreciation to their allies with lunch and a round of golf at Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club. At lunch, Conroe Mayor Webb Melder, GCEDC Board Chairman Steve Pilgrim and CIDC Board Chairman Mickey Deison made sure to point out that the economic success of Conroe would not be possible without the help of the industrial businesses and commercial real estate partners attending Allies Day.

The GCEDC expressed its appreciation to those who attended Allies Day to learn more about opportunities in Conroe. The GCEDC is committed to working with their partners, especially those who attended the event, to ensure future economic growth for the Conroe region.
