GEICO Grants $10,000 to EAC Network for Child Car Seat Inspections
By: EAC Network
Injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident are a leading cause of death among children in the U.S. An estimated 46 percent of child safety seats are improperly used in a way that could reduce their effectiveness. (http://www.cdc.gov/
"We're honored to expand our partnership with EAC Network so we can offer child safety seat inspections to more Long Island families," said John Pham, GEICO's regional vice president of New York operations. "Installing a child safety seat often ends up being harder than it looks, so parents will no doubt leave these events with greater peace of mind after having a professional check for the proper fit."
Safe Start will be able to greatly expand its educational services thanks to GEICO's generosity, including a fun and educational child safety event on September 24 at GEICO's Woodbury office located at 750 Woodbury Rd.
To learn more information about car seat safety or to attend an upcoming child safety seat inspection event, call Safe Start at (516) 292-7362 (Nassau County) or (631) 648-7100 (Suffolk County).
