JDC Group Volunteers at Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities for Its Second Annual Volunteer Day

ATLANTA - May 27, 2016 - PRLog -- For the past two years, JDC Group has held an annual Volunteer Day of Service to offer its employees a chance to give back to the community. This year, JDC Group employees supported Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities at two separate events, which took place May 9th and May 12th.

Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities exists to help the families of sick and injured children who are receiving extended care at Scottish Rite and Egleston hospitals in Atlanta. The charity offers these families a home away from home so that they can stay close to their child as they undergo treatment. This arrangement ensures that children can have the support of their family while they are being treated, and it keeps families from having to absorb the high costs associated with long-term care away from home.

Since its founding in 1979, Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities has supported over 46,000 families during their child's medical treatment. Thanks to donations and the hard work of volunteers, like those from JDC Group, the charity has been able to help families who come from a wide range of situations to be present for their child during their time of need.

For the first portion of its 2nd Annual Volunteer Day of Service, JDC Group participated in the 22nd Annual Ronald McDonald House Golf Classic at The Golf Club of Georgia on Monday, May 9th. JDC Group served as a sponsor of the tournament.

On Thursday, May 12th, JDC Group employees came together to prepare breakfast and dinner for guests of the new ARMHC house located near Scottish Rite. Employees divided themselves into two teams. One team baked muffins, brownies, and a cake in the morning, while the other baked casseroles in the afternoon. The teams worked in the massive state-of-the-art kitchen at the new house to prepare these meals, and had the opportunity to meet and interact with guests of the house. After each team completed their respective projects, they were able to take a tour of the impressive new facility.

The Volunteer Day of Service is very popular among JDC Group employees, who view it as a great opportunity to give back to the community. Working with Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities this year proved to be rewarding, which has prompted JDC Group to include ARMHC as one of the main recipients of its ongoing philanthropic work.
