Admission Open at ABC's Teachers Training College

HOWRAH, India - May 27, 2016 - PRLog -- Independently owned social organisation Asha Bhavan Centre announced recently that admission is now open at its Teachers Training College in the district of Howrah for D.Ed Special Education (MR) 2016-2018. This Diploma Education Programme extending over a period of 2 years is affiliated by the Rehabilitation Council of India. It will allow the admitted students to become eligible for appearing in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

The last date for submission of application forms is June 15, 2016. Application forms are being provided from the Kathila Campus of Asha Bhavan Centre. Only candidates who have either qualified their 10+2 examinations or its equivalent along with 50 percent marks are eligible to apply for admission. The quota of marks has been reduced to 45 percent for SCs, STs, OBCs and PWDs. Only 25 students are going to be admitted.

TET or Teacher Eligibility Test is an entrance exam for aspiring teachers. It is compulsory for anyone who wishes to work in any government school. The test consists of two papers 1 and 2. The former is for those who wish to teach Class 1 to 5, whereas the latter is meant to be attempted by individuals wanting to teach class 6 to 8.

The course of D.Ed Special Education (MR) aims at preparing special teachers who can impart education to youngsters with mental retardation. It allows learners to develop competencies, practice skills and acquire knowledge.
