The US Navy Hospital Corps officially dates back to 17 June 1898 when President WIlliam McKinley signed into law a bill calling for the establishment of a formally trained enlisted medical professional within the US Navy. Hospital Corpsmen since 2011 have attended training at Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX where they are integrated with the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps attending school at the Medical Education and Training Campus.
The United States Navy Corpsman. The Doc, the Devil Doc and all the names earned by these incredible men and women that serve at personal cost up to including their lives to help and save the lives of others. Their commitment, dedication, courage, loyalty has been recognized since their very beginning and because of their amazing accomplishments in battle have produced from their ranks the most Medal of Honor recipients of any ratings in the US Navy.
