WILTON, Conn. - May 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Al Alper, CEO of Absolute Logic (www.absolutelogic.com), a firm providing technical support and technology consulting to Connecticut and New York businesses since 1991,  has never walked on the Moon. But he's done the next best thing - had a conversation and his picture taken with someone who did.

Buzz Aldrin, former astronaut and engineer, and the second person ever to set foot on the Moon (1969), was a keynote speaker at a national convention of Information Technology (IT) professionals held recently in Nashville, TN.  Alper and a number of his colleagues from across the country gathered at this conference, hosted by national consultant, trainer and author Robin Robins.

Alper is co-captain of a peer organization called the Accountability Group, which consists of IT company executives from across the country, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, California, and Tennessee. This 'peer group' of a dozen professionals meet via Internet weekly and in person at the larger conventions a half dozen times a year, with an express objective of sharing best practices within their industry and helping each other build their businesses.

"The idea of having like-minded practitioners meet to share information is extremely valuable," Alper said, noting, "There is no better source for advice in your industry than from someone who is in the trenches and shares similar experiences. The key advantage here is that these group members are colleagues, not competitors. We work in different geographic regions across the U.S. and can speak freely about strengths and weaknesses, successes and when we falter; addressing each other without fear of alerting the competition to our next business moves." He continued, "Questions about when or whether it's the right time to hire, how to bring a new service or product to market, or simply the nuts and bolts of how to make the day-to-day activities of running a business more efficient - these are all discussion items and we all gain from the collective knowledge and expertise of our peers."

He added, "And who better to inspire a group of business owners than a man who literally risked his life for his dream, Buzz Aldrin? At age 86, he still looks at space travel with wonderment, and if there were a way for him to get to Mars, he'd do it even now." He said, "Buzz Aldrin and his contemporaries literally did what no one had done before. They took risks and our country reaped the rewards. We are all grateful to Mr. Aldrin for his insight, his wisdom and of course his service to our country."
