Asia Pacific to embrace Healthcare Innovation

SINGAPORE - May 26, 2016 - PRLog -- An impressive group of government leaders, healthcare stakeholders, industry players and thought leaders will gather at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore on 20 and 21 July for the landmark conference Innovating Care Asia Pacific 2016 (ICAP), an event that seeks to transform healthcare as the region transitions from conventional medical and healthcare paradigms towards preventive wellness (Wellcare).

The ICAP 2016 is a top-tier conference offering a carefully thought-out dynamic agenda that delves into important topics such as healthcare policies, regulations and care models for care accessibility from health to wellness in acute to home care; reverse innovation in healthcare; evolution of robotics; patient empowerment solutions; pay for performance and other models of healthcare financing, as well as how technology and innovation can help solve some of the challenges facing the ageing population.

Held in Singapore, the vibrant city state long known as a champion of innovation in the region, this meeting of minds and sharing of ideas will zero-in on strategies and innovative solutions to drive the transformation of healthcare for the greater benefits of patients.

Led by a line-up of local and international speakers, the ICAP 2016 conference is expected to attract C-suite executives from key organisations that are directly or indirectly involved in healthcare. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to listen and learn from different keynote speeches, plenary and track sessions to be led by some of the world's most distinguished health care experts and innovators. There will also be an Exhibition where vendors showcase their innovative products and services to the participants and guests.

"Without breakthrough innovations-of the kind to be discussed at this conference-healthcare costs will bankrupt one nation after another!" says Ravi Ramamurti, a distinguished professor of D'Amore-McKim School of Business Northeastern University, U.S.A., when asked about the significance of kick-starting discussions that will lead to innovation in the healthcare industry. Professor Ramamurti is one of the keynote speakers at ICAP 2016 conference. The other keynote speakers are Dr Suwit Wibulpolprasert, Vice Chair of International Health Policy Program Foundation in Thailand, and Professor Ric Marshall, international consultant on Healthcare Pricing and Performance Management from the United Kingdom.

"Health and Biomedical Sciences have been identified as a key domain under Singapore's Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) plan for the next five years, to address the disease burden and rising healthcare costs associated with ageing populations, for Singapore and beyond. The ICAP 2016 event is thus timely, with its focus on unmet medical needs and new care delivery models relevant for the Asia Pacific region." adds Professor Tan Sze Wee, Executive Director of the Science and Engineering Research Council and Director of the medical technology cluster at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), which is one of the Supporting Organisations of ICAP 2016 conference. Professor Tan is also part of ICAP 2016 Advisory Committee.

Participation will be limited to 300 C-Suite executives from healthcare provider organisations and vendors, venture capitalists, government leaders and members of the academia.
