The Poetry of Television to Come to Rutherford on June 1

FORT LEE, N.J. - May 25, 2016 - PRLog -- The poetry of I Love Lucy, The Addams Family, and other television favorites will make a special appearance at the Williams Carlos Williams Center for the Performing Arts in Rutherford at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, when contributors to the anthology Rabbit Ears: TV Poems pay tribute to the small screen as part of the monthly Williams Center Reading Series.

The following poets will appear (the title of each contributor's poem in the anthology appears in parentheses):

·        Joel Allegretti, editor of Rabbit Ears ("The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Unaired Episodes");

·        MaryLisa DeDomenicis ("Survivor's Guilt");

·        Rick Mullin ("Lexanne")

·        Susanna Rich ("The Thing: My Crazy Family");

·        John J. Trause ("Topo Gigio");

·        David Vincenti ("Pamela Hensley's Hips");

·        Michael T. Young ("House, M.D.").

The poets will read their contributions to Rabbit Ears and other work. Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase.

Released in December 2015 by NYQ Books, Rabbit Ears: TV Poems (http://books.nyq.org/title/rabbit_ears)  is the first anthology of poetry about a medium that has influenced America's language, politics, opinions, tastes, and lifestyles. The poems explore the history and early days of TV, sit-coms, cop shows, children's programs, science fiction and horror shows, soap operas, iconic TV personalities, and commercials, among other subjects.

Rabbit Ears: TV Poems is in the Fales Collection at New York University and in the archives of the University of Rochester, Ohio State University, and SUNY Buffalo.
