Nostalgic TV Pilot Sweeps Awards at Twelve Festivals, Premieres at TCL Chinese on Jun 10
The Comeback Kids takes nostalgic TV to the next level for fans of television. With shows like Fuller House getting a re-boot, The Comeback Kids is not limited to the cast of one show and already has actor commitments from a variety of shows.
Why should you see The Comeback Kids? When George Shapiro, producer of Seinfeld, saw the pilot, he remarked, "This has to be on television."
The Comeback Kids highlights the story of two former child actors. Even though they are still working in show business, they are still reaching for their big breakout roles as adults. Horvitz plays Richie Eisenberg and Cameron plays Gary Fischer. As kids they were actors on the show "Different Folks," but as adults they deal with some of the typical things that former child stars have to deal with such as working odd jobs while finding more acting jobs and handling fans fixated on their childhood personalities.
James has assembled a unique cast of actors for the pilot episode including award-winning Keith Coogan (Adventures in Babysitting)
Future episodes will include Aileen Quinn, who played the endearing orphan Annie in 1982, Jeremy Miller (Growing Pains), and Dawn Wells (Gilligan's Island). Mariette Hartley (The Incredible Hulk, 1982) will also appear in a future episode. The list of actors grew from a handful of people to cast of over 20 characters practically overnight. James attributes the attraction to one simple reason - these former child actors still love to act. Claudia Wells (Back to the Future), Alison Arngrim (Nellie on Little House on the Prairie), Kathy Garver (Family Affair), and Lark Voorhies (Saved by the Bell) are also slated to entertain in future episodes.
The best way to support this project is to like, follow, and share on social media.
