40th Annual EMS "The SUMMIT" Conference in Provo Utah

PROVO, Utah - May 24, 2016 - PRLog -- EMS Associates is an educational conference company that offers continuing education opportunities to EMT's, paramedics, law enforcement, nurses and other emergency services personnel.  It was founded in 1976 by two BYU professors, Keith J. Karren, Ph.D and the late Brent Q. Hafen, Ph.D. and a local ER physician, the late Keith R. Hooker, M.D., who saw the need for quality prehospital emergency care education.  The first conference was held in October 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah with an attendance of 500 people and has since grown to a conference attendance of over 1150 people.

EMS Associates currently has two conference locations.  Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Provo, Utah.  For 40 years of prehospital and EMS education, the Utah conference was being held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Beginning November 2016, Conference Directors, Elle Martin and Dr. Doug Murdock will be bringing the conference back to Provo, Utah, where it was initially founded.  Elle and Doug both bring to EMS Associates the passion of providing quality education and prehospital care to EMT's, law enforcement, nurses, and all emergency first responders.

EMS Associates brings in some of the nation's top EMS educators to lecture at these conferences, providing the conference attendees with cutting edge education and medical intervention.  The conference offers a 1-day preconference workshop, followed by a 3-day core conference.  The preconference workshops provides hands-on training in the areas of back boarding, airway management, and patient extrication and a cadaver workshop.  Save-a-Cop, an 8-hour preconference workshop offers hands-on patient assessment, triage and patient removal in an active gunman environment.  These preconference workshops have become some of the highlights of the conference.

Come join us on November 2-5, 2016, EMS Associates will be moving the conference to Provo, Utah to hold their 40^th Annual "The SUMMIT" conference.  The conference will be held at the new Utah Valley Convention Center and the Provo Marriott will be the host hotel.  EMS Associates is looking forward to bringing this conference back to the city where Dr. Karren, Dr. Hafen and Dr. Hooker began their work and continue this great legacy and mission of bringing only the top EMS education available to all prehospital and emergency services personnel.
