AUSTIN, Texas - May 24, 2016 - PRLog -- BanQu, Inc. (www.banquapp.com), a for-profit, social enterprise company offering a revolutionary economic identity-centric platform that establishes an individual's identity and subsequently captures transactions, both economic and non-economic, with participating organizations within the BanQu Network to the more than 2.5B global unbanked, has been named a Best of Show winner at the FinovateSpring event on May 10 & 11, 2016.

At its most basic level, BanQu has developed a blockchain identity and transaction solution to be leveraged as a pathway out of extreme poverty. The platform leverages the blockchain protocol to provide an immutable, portable, secured identity for the "poorest of the poor" (the 2.5B unbanked/under-banked people of the world) in Sub-Saharan Africa and other third-world countries allowing them to participate in the global economy. The BanQu platform capabilities and architecture provides the independent / secured identity and transaction functionality needed to support and satisfy Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance requirements, along with Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR), for the international monetary markets.

The BanQu Platform allows for the digitizing of traditional community trust networks and corresponding reputational data allowing the otherwise unbankable population to connect, through the BanQu Network, to the global economy.

"The BanQu Team did a fantastic job with their demo, and their Best of Show win demonstrates the degree to which their innovation and cause really stood out," said Greg Palmer, Sr. Event Director of Finovate. "It's great to see this kind of financial/social inclusion solution receiving so much attention, interest, and support, and we're very pleased that Finovate was able to help them get their message out to such an influential audience."

BanQu co-founders Ashish Gadnis and Hamse Warfa presented at Finovate. "We were very excited by everyone's support," said Hamse. "We were simply overwhelmed with the validation and interest we received. This was an important step for us, and we couldn't be happier with the exposure we received from the Finovate community."
