IMUA Elects New Slate of 2016 Officers & Board Members at 86th Annual Meeting

NEW YORK - May 23, 2016 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA was the scene of this year's Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) Annual Meeting (May 16 -18) where over 250 underwriters, brokers, claims personnel and key industry suppliers converged to learn of some of the most pressing issues of concern to the inland marine industry for 2016 and beyond.  The 86th IMUA Annual Meeting took place at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

The first order of business was the election of the 2016 slate of officers. William Rosa, XL Catlin Re was elected the associations' new Chairman.   Also elected were Richard Pye, QBE North America as Deputy Chair and Bruce Jervis, Chubb as Vice Chair.

In making his acceptance remarks Bill Rosa praised the work of the IMUA and its continuing commitment to advancing the goals of the inland marine industry. He said, "I am extremely honored to serve as the Chairman of such a prestigious organization as the IMUA.  But more importantly, I am proud to be a part of this group of dedicated professionals and thank you, the membership, for this unique opportunity.  It is extremely gratifying to witness first hand the incredible progress the association has made over the past few years in developing the talents of so many young members of this association.  As part of my first term agenda, I intend to build upon our successes to create an even stronger entity by pursuing all avenues as they relate to the professional development of those of you who serve this industry. I look forward to building an even stronger IMUA."

Mr. Rosa then recognized the hard work and dedication of the Michelle Hohen, who has served as the IMUA's Chairperson for the past two years.  "Throughout her career with the IMUA Michelle has always given more than asked.  Her devotion and dedication to the industry and the IMUA is unmatched.  We all thank her for her leadership in setting a course I look forward to following.  I also want to recognize the efforts of the IMUA staff who continue to push us to become a better organization."

Also elected during the IMUA Business Meeting were the slate of Board of Directors.

Michael Cueman, Zurich NA

Ben Tuttle - IMU, One Beacon

Class of 2019:

James Cordrey - Hanover

Anthony Franco - Swiss Re

Jack Moran - Seneca

Joseph Rich - Liberty Mutual

Grace Thomas - Great American

Kevin O'Brien and Lillian Colson - the Association's President and CEO and Vice President and Secretary respectively were also unanimously re-elected at the 86th Annual Meeting.

IMUA is the national association for the commercial inland marine insurance industry.  IMUA serves as the voice of its member companies representing over 90 percent of all commercial inland marine insurers.
