HICKORY, N.C. - May 20, 2016 - PRLog -- A sellout crowd jammed into the Hickory Metro Convention Center May 15, 2016 for the first-ever clash between wrestlers of America's Most-Liked Wrestling and Global Force Wrestling, the fast-growing national promotion helmed by Jeff Jarrett. The card featured appearances from former NWA World Champion Ron Simmons and former TNA World Champion James Storm, but fans walked away stunned, as wrestling history was made.

Here are the OFFICIAL results from AML vs. GFW!

- Before the official beginning of the event, Phil Brown outlasted 30 of the best unsigned wrestlers in the region to win the AML Futures Battle Royal. Brown painstakingly outlasted all 30 men, eliminating BOTH Geordie Bulldogs (Mark Denny and Sean Denny) to win it. Brown now gets a chance to battle in front of AML cameras in a future one-on-one match to be determined.

- "Mr. Axcellence" Brandon Scott (AML) defeated Pat Buck (GFW) by pinfall.

- In six man tag action, The Washington Bullets (Jon and Trey Williams) teamed with Brian Myers, formerly Curt Hawkins, of GFW to beat The AML Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Heat Seekers (Sigmon and Elliot Russell) and Kevin Matthews of GFW when Myers pinned Matthews while the Williams twins hit suicide dives in tandem on each of their AML rivals.

- Colt Cabana (GFW) beat Jason "The Gift" Kincaid (AML) by pinfall.

- Caprice Coleman (AML) pinned Chase Owens (GFW).

- Sonjay Dutt (c) successfully defended the GFW NEX*GEN title by pinning Cedrick Alexander (w/ Tommy Thomas) in a No-DQ match. Sonjay overcame the blatant interference of Thomas (the 2015 AML Manager of the Year) and a stiff challenge from a determined Alexander to pin Alexander after a squirrel dive.

- In a Champion vs. Champion non-title match, AML Wrestling Champion "King" Shane Williams pinned GFW Champion Nick "Magnus" Aldis after a piledriver, thanks to the able assistance of "Cowboy" James Storm. Storm unexpetedly ran to the ring to stop Aldis from manhandling Queen Taylor while King Shane was down.

- In the triple threat main event, Matt Hardy overcame the odds to beat Wrestlecade Champion Jeff Jarrett and Ethan Carter III to become the first-ever two-time Wrestlecade champion. In a match that featured THREE former TNA Champions, Carter thought he had the match won when he hit a devastating One-Percenter on Jarrett. Hardy grabbed him, though, and hit a twist of fate on Carter before pinning Jarrett to avenge his Wrestlecade IV defeat. Matt Hardy is the NEW Wrestlecade champion!
