NEW ORLEANS - May 20, 2016 - PRLog -- A Senior at International High School of New Orleans (IHSNO), Tori Turner has so many talents that she has been offered a combined $667,000 in scholarships and the total is still rising.  The scholarships range from academic and merit based to community service and arts. Turner will graduate later this month from IHSNO's International Baccalaureate (Honors) Diploma Program with a concentration in Film Studies.  She is also a member of the Senior Student Government Board, Student Ambassadors, Taylor Scholar, Posse Scholar - Semi Finalist,  and National Arts Honor Society.

As one college acceptance letter after another came, they were also paired with a lot of cash. The combined total comes from the 16 schools Turner has been accepted to.

Though shocked to receive so many scholarship offers and college acceptances, Turner has worked hard throughout her high school career and during the college admissions process maintaining a high GPA in the honors program, participating in several extracurricular activities and clocking over 1,000 hours a year in community service.

"My Mom always said to me; your admission process to college doesn't start senior year, it starts the moment you begin high school." said Turner. "It's funny because now she is saying the same thing about my college career and encouraging me to go in with the end in mind as this is not the final step."

"There are still several scholarships that I won't hear from until June." said Turner.

Out of all the scholarships offered, Tori has decided to accept a merit scholarship to attend North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Mass Media Production.  Turner announced her decision on National College Decision Day across social media platforms on May 1, 2016.

"My plans are to become a world renowned film director/producer, screenwriter and actress," said Turner, "I have been acting since I was 11 and writing even earlier and one day I would love to adapt my books to film and television where I write, produce, direct and act in them."  "Much like a female Tyler Perry."

Already no stranger to the spotlight, Tori appeared in her first staged production at the age of 11; started a non-profit foundation at 12; released her first published book at 13; and started her publishing company Reign Drop Teen publications and released her cosmetics line, Teen Queens Collection at 16 years old.  Tori has also won and been nominated for several awards, including 2012 Miss Black Louisiana USA Teen, and 2013 Miss Louisiana International Teen.  Most recently she was chosen by McDonald's 365Black Awards as the 2015 Community Choice Youth Award recipient and appeared on BET, Centric, Black Enterprise, Essence and Ebony magazines.

Turner also credits her parents for her successes, noting their unwavering support of her many endeavors and busy schedule.  "Without God and my parents, none of this would be possible." said Turner.
