LOS ANGELES - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- After a website design is done together with all the code, testing and retesting finish is time to launch the "baby" so we can take care of the next project... Not so fast, everything is good, just that if you think that a website project is done with this, you are in for a big surprise. Your website needs constant upgrades, small tweaks and attention, other way it will start to slip south and no matter how cool it is looking, soon wil; stop bringing in the revenue.

In order to make it easy for everybody to understand I made a list with what is necessary, if you want to have a ROI not just a cool website to show to your friends and family.

Regularly check.

First in line is, obvious, to regularly check if all the pages, widgets and plugins work at all times and on all major browsers. Then, your website content provide useful informations for your potential customers? I know you had the website designed with that in mind, but time has past, and now, several months down the road, is your website content and links useful for your visitors? Things change all the time, faster then you can imagine, and if you don't stay on top of them, pretty soon your site will cease to be useful for your customers.

Regularly test.

Second, you have to run tests, not only when you create the website, but also after. Continuously you have to try to discover what is the shortest and fastest way for you to convert impressions into conversions. Always test your contacting pages, offers, and all links from and to your social media.

Add regularly content.

Then it is the content. Not only having a blog increase the website exposure, but all the articles have to be useful for your clients and help them making the most informed decisions regarding your products or services. After you publish the article, a comment or any update will bring it back, reestablishing its relevance and this way inform your clients about the development over time. Finally, by doing so, you will be sure about the status of your article, and be sure if is outdated, and is not relevant anymore.

Check backlinks.

Periodically, you have to check your backlinks and make sure none of them is broken. If are external links and broken or outdated, then you have to get rid of them, and if there are internal links, you have to fix them immediately so your customers will be able to navigate. Any broken link it will bring your website loses by losing potential clients and getting penalized by search engines.

Loading time.

All the time you have to check the website loading time. Most visitors will wait several seconds and if the page is not displayed, then they will leave. I understand, a cool site will have a lot of pictures, designs, videos and animations, but if thy are not properly configured, will take lot of time to load. Also, by adding a new post into your blog can offset the website in general, resulting into a loading time increase...

Check analytics.

Always check and measure all the various signals from analytics algorithms. Based on the periodically results you make the necessary changes into the content and the way the internal links are connecting, to get the most efficient results. It does not matter if the website was performing perfect on the beginning, after some time, due to inevitable changes in the structure, losses in timing will occur, and all of them have to be addressed as soon as possible.
