Canada's Allison Crowe and Band Launch "Heirs + Grievances" Music / Video Album

HASTINGS, U.K. - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- On a just-wrapped concert tour of Europe, Allison Crowe showed how and why she's so vital. Absence of anything corporate or calculated about the artistry of Crowe and her band, so rare today, is, naturally, welcome. Still, such integrity matters to audiences most because it's in service of a marvellous musicality twinned by thrilling virtuosity.

Through Germany, Slovenia, Italy, England and Belgium, whatever the language+ of listeners, Crowe's combo communicated directly. Viscerally. Profoundly. Advancing cultural traditions with a fresh originality the combo represents the best from the land of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Oscar Peterson+.

Home in Canada for the Summer, Crowe is once again Musical Director for Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador's rollicking stage-hit, "Newfoundland Vinyl". As well, for the first time in the show's history, Crowe joins the cast for performances running June 11 - September 2, 2016 at the Gros Morne Theatre Festival.

Before Allison Crowe (vocals, piano, guitar, fiddle, bodhran) physically reunites with her bandmates - Céline Greb (cello, vox), Sarah White (mandolin, vox), Dave Baird (bass) - the group's debut, double-album (one live + one studio set), "Introducing / Heirs + Grievances" enjoys full release alongside a web-based video album.

Mainstream recording artists from Beyonce to Weird Al have recently focused on integrating music videos and audio albums. Radiohead is making individual song statements via visual media. Crowe's own video aesthetic marries her song recordings with footage from home-movies, vintage documentaries and silent film classics of cinema pioneers and visionaries (impressionists, surrealists, Dadaists, avant gardists, animators+).

A visual collection of tracks from "Heirs + Grievances" is peopled by family archives and such iconic characters as Olive Oyl, Popeye the Sailorman, Lois Lane and Clark Kent/Superman.
