LOS ANGELES - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- International Coaching Week (ICW)--the annual global celebration of the coaching profession where coaches share the benefits of coaching with their communities through a variety of activities and pro bono services--is going on all over the world this week.  And the City of Angels is no exception.

Mayor Garcetti awarded a Certificate of Recognition to The International Coach Federation Los Angeles (ICFLA) for its pro-bono coaching services benefiting over twenty local non-profits. The community-improving constellation was brought together by the global philanthropic juggernaut, Social Venture Partners Los Angeles (SVPLA) in celebration of International Coaching Week (ICW).

Home to one of the largest and most active chapters of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Los Angeles was one of the earliest cities to embrace the power of coaching. Grateful for all the city has given this coaching community, ICFLA has chosen to celebrate ICW by thanking some of Los Angeles's finest angels: the unsung heroes who never stop working to improve our city.

In addition to many of ICFLA members offering complimentary coaching sessions within their own respective communities, ICFLA is proud to be coaching a diverse group of non-profit organizations brought together by the Los Angeles outpost of Social Venture Partners (SVPLA), the global network of over 3,500 philanthropists, entrepreneurs and change-makers working together to improve the efficacy and reach of non-profits.

Courtney Webster, (President, ICFLA) proclaimed the board's choice of SVPLA as this year's ICW recipient a unanimous and enthusiastic one:

"ICFLA knows that great coaching powerfully impacts the world one conversation at time!  We are thrilled to partner with SVPLA and the non-profit organizations it serves who are making our city a better place for us all. It is the privilege of the Los Angeles community of coaches to share the power of coaching during International Coaching Week with such an amazing and diverse group of non-profit leaders who are so dedicated to improving our communities."

Aya Burgess, SVPLA's Program and Operations Associate, delineates just how much "the work between the coaches and nonprofits will be invaluable":

"Though Social Venture Partners is a philanthropic organization, we do much         more than give money.  By cultivating effective philanthropists, strengthening         nonprofits, and investing in collaborative solutions to our community's toughest challenges, SVP amplifies the impact of those out to do good.  Since  our nonprofit practitioners are the program experts, we aim to complement that expertise by working in partnership with organizations like ICFLA to strengthen them from the inside out. In this spirit, we are proud to partner with ICFLA to provide high-quality coaching to these nonprofit leaders."
