LONDON - May 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Released on the 8th of March 2016 Tom Clancy's The Division has been rife with problems from day one. It is an online-only third person shooter with both solo modes and a multiplayer mission mode. The game received good critic reviews from the main gaming websites, 6.7 on ign.com, 4/5 on trustedreviews and 80 on metacritic. Player reviews seem to be getting a love it or hate it reaction with ratings from 0-10 averaging around 7.

So what is so wrong with it?

Nothing new
- Many players have complained that this game is just nothing special, there are no new concepts, no interesting game play, just a run of the mill cash grab third person shooter. The words bland, mediocre, boring, and shallow are just some of the words being banded around the forums. The gameplay is very static; the story has practically no random events; the enemy encounters are all pretty fixed and sparsely spread out, meaning you spend a long time just walking around in between fights. The storyline is very linear and once you have completed all the set missions in an area you are left with nothing to do.

Hacks - Within hours of the beta version going live, hacks had been uploaded to the internet giving users who were willing to pay completely unfair advantages in the multiplayer mission mode. This is extremely frustrating for honest players.

Glitches - The game has been riddled with serious glitches from the beta to the finished release. Ubisoft have been criticised for its lack of urgency in fixing these issues, as well as a lack of interest in customer complaints. Some of these glitches have meant players can't even play the first mission and patch after patch have failed to fix it basically turning the game into a very expensive coaster.

Crafting Nerf - When update 1.1 launched they completely revamped the crafting system making it almost impossible to craft high-end gear, doubling the amount of standard materials needed to craft 1 specialised material, tripling the amount of specialised materials needed to craft 1 high-end material and upping the amount of high end material needed create a high end item from 8-10. They also halved the amount of material salvaged from the destruction of items. These alterations ultimately changed the crafting form an enjoyable experience to an all-out chore and angered a lot of players.

Overall Division is a potentially great game ruined by lack of attention to detail and a general lack of interest in the opinions of its players. These are mistakes that a lot of large game companies make and they can be hard to recover from.

Maybe 1.2 onwards will bring the game back to greatness, we will see.
