The first and only photography tour company in Cancun

CANCUN, Mexico - May 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Cancun Photo Walks (CPW), the first and only photography focused tour company in the Riviera Maya Mexico, today announces the first anniversary of the company's founding, and the launch of a new line of photography tours in the Riviera Maya, supporting local industry and bringing awareness to Mexico through the photographic lens.

Cancun Photo Walks was founded by Daniel and Raine Monkman in May 2015, with the objective of bringing more awareness to the beauty and culture of Mexico to break down some of the stereotypes about Cancun.   After moving to Cancun with their young family 5 years ago, Dan and Raine fell in love with the rich history and amazing culture that they saw through their many photo walks throughout the city.   Daniel, a professional photographer, wanted to put his photography skills to good use and do something that would make an impact on the world.  Together they created Cancun Photo Walks with the goal of showing the other side of Cancun, apart from the party central view that Cancun is well known for; one guest at a time and one photograph at a time.

The company is proud of its guest centered approach to the tourism industry, which treats each guest and each tour unique.  Through this approach the company focuses on three main goals;

1.       Through creating awareness break down the stereotypes present in the tourism industry

2.       Give back to the local economy, putting money directly in the hands of the locals

3.       Give every guest an amazing experience, great pictures and positive view of Cancun and the Riviera Maya

They accomplish these goals one guest at a time.  Each guest gets a completely personalized and unique experience.

In the words of a recent Cancun Photo Walks guest, "I can't say enough about Dan and his staff. If you want a unique tour, don't go with those big tour agencies, as you'll just be a number to them. They give you one to one interaction. You won't be disappointed." Trip Advisor Review.

Visitors have the security of traveling/touring with a local who they can trust; and who speaks both English and Spanish.   Guests get excellent value for their money; the pricing structure is comparable to other private tour companies with the added benefits of photography training during their tours and all of the images taken by their photographer throughout the day.  Travellers leave their Cancun vacation with a positive experience and outlook on travel to Mexico as well as incredible pictures to remember their vacation.   This unique client centered approach allows Cancun Photo Walks to meet their remaining two goals by; taking tourists to some of the great smaller local businesses, leaving a lasting positive impression of travel to Mexico one client at a time and through their growth and expansion create employment opportunities within their company for locals.

The first year of business has been a success enabling Cancun Photo Walks to get some exposure and put their feet on the ground.  With the announcement of their first year anniversary the company will be launching a new line of small group tours that will be more accessible to guests who don't have the budget for private tours.  "We want our tours to be accessible to everyone that comes to Cancun, so that every visitor to the area has the chance to see the beautiful culture and rich history of the country they are visiting." Raine Monkman.

In the works for the future are plans for 3 - 5 day photography excursions and workshops aimed at enticing hobbyist, amateur and professional photographers from around the world to visit Cancun.  And the couples' plans to put the profits from Cancun Photo Walks back into the local community through creating a non-profit photography training program for youth in Cancun Centro.   Together with Raine's education and previous experience in the social sector in their home country of Canada; and Dan's expertise in photography they believe they can do something to positively impact local youth.

"If we can allow them the opportunity to explore the creative arts and teach them valuable technical skills, together we can create opportunities that will allow locals to be a part of the million dollar photography industry in Cancun, putting some of that profit directly in the hands of locals."  Raine Monkman.
