ScissorHands will be at DRUPA 2016

DUSSELDORF, Germany - May 17, 2016 - PRLog -- Dresden, Germany

Scissor Hands delivers smarter cut programs through artificial intelligence integrated with guillotine cutters. Scissor Hands integration is the simplest in the industry for cutter feature enhancement. Among many benefits:

* Reduce cut times as much as 60 percent on gang cutting.
* Cutting instructions are automatically sent to the cutter.
* Completely eliminates complex manual calculations.

"With Scissor Hands, gang printing is made totally efficient," said John Evans, Operations Manager at Print Fulfillment Systems. "The benefits of economically using all of the paper sheet won't cause bottlenecks in the bindery due to complex cutting sequences. Our printing operation profits from the cost savings running ganged sheets provides."

Scissor Hands eliminates the workflow choke point that gang printing causes in the bindery.

The full screen animation guides the operator to turn the stack to the next cut eliminating the greatest cause of waste in the bindery. Automation eliminates human operator error from the process.

Director of Business Development at Farheap Solutions, Robert Godwin, explained, "For a facility looking to make the best use of its dedicated workers, the most exciting aspect of Scissor Hands is the way it combines artificial intelligence with readily accessible technology. Touch-screen animation showing precise instructions replaces traditional training, where it can take six weeks to bring a novice up to speed. Now, bringing a new operator up to full-capacity production can be done in a very short time."

Operator efficiencies and throughput are collected for accurate labor assessment. Scissor Hands also tracks the operator's jobs, start time, end time, and blade drops. This collection and reporting data is then accessible by MIS systems or other reporting systems for tight integration or analysis.

Shipping costs are cut by Scissor Hands by using JDF Cut Block data from the imposition prep. Scissor Hands creates the most efficient cut sequencing and recommends the best boxing solution. It then prints out the shipping label the moment each job is finished cutting.

Scissor Hands (http://www.scissorhands.net/)  is used on cutters such as Polar-Mohr and Itoh from 56CM to 200CM. Scissor Hands does not eliminate the original functionality of the cutter and is supported online for upgrades and performance evaluation. Other systems require additional hardware and back up inventory or your cutter is not operational until service gets to your facility.

Scissor Hands is being shown at DRUPA 2016, Hall 6 Booth 6E81. Demonstrations on the industry's leading guillotine cutters will be held throughout the show. Email for a scheduled demonstration or stop by for detailed information on how Scissor Hands can create more uptime and more throughput in your facility. Scissor Hands literally pays for itself.
