Mr. Slater facilitated interactive sessions with over 100 high school students during the second semester of this school year on becoming financially responsible adults. At Laurel, a nationally recognized, college preparatory independent day school for girls, Mr. Slater completed a course on financial literacy that taught critical aspects of an individual's finances such as credit versus debit, budgeting, and risk return. The curriculum also included the four basic aspects of a person's financials: getting money, saving money, spending money and sharing money.
At Fuchs Mizrachi, also an independent day school in Cleveland, Mr. Slater creatively wove lessons about wealth, what it is and isn't, as he read two classic novels with his students.
"I'm honored to work with the really sharp and curious young minds at Laurel and Fuchs Mizrachi. It's exciting to see them grasp important financial concepts that will help them make informed money management decisions the rest of their lives," said Mr. Slater.
