Local Business Owner Makes Prom Dreams Come True For Foster Teens

Infinity Headbands, Salon 9 and others are giving two girls in foster care through Eckerd Kids a Cinderella experience.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - May 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Prom season is here and local business owner, Ashley Fox, owner of Infinity Headbands has partnered with other organizations and personal donors in the community, including Salon 9 in St. Petersburg to make two girls in the foster care system through Eckerd Kids have a Cinderella experience for their prom night on Friday, May 20.

These foster teens were selected through Eckerd's Raising Hope (http://www.eckerd.org/get-involved/donate/other-ways-to-help/raising-hope/how-to-help/?gclid=CKWvmM_NrMwCFUokhgodcW4MVg) program after Ashley's request that she wanted to donate her time and services to create a sense of normalcy for local foster teens in Pinellas County.  Kelly Rossi, Director of Raising Hope, said "Without this generous donation, these girls unfortunately would not get to have this same type of experience for their proms.  These donations help create a sense of normalcy for the teens and it allows them to be just like the other girls at school.  We are so happy to have Ashley as a donor and are grateful for this opportunity."

The donors have already provided funds for a shopping trip the girls took at Dillard's Tyrone Square where they selected their dresses, shoes and makeup for the day of the prom.  Next on the list will be their hair appointments at Salon 9 in St. Petersburg before their prom to get their special hairstyles created with hairpieces from Infinity Headbands, along with makeup, manicures and pedicures.

Ashley had a vision to provide the girls this special opportunity and it was when she shared the idea with her friend, Michelle Burtch, who knew of someone with a similar desire to help, things started to come together. They were able to coordinate all of this through other generous donors and business owners, like themselves. Ashley said, "From the very beginning of getting this all together it was a God thing the way that it all just fell into place and so many people wanted to help.  We have generous donors who are providing jewelry, flowers and much more because every girl deserves to feel beautiful."
