Bulakan, Bulacan (6 May 2016) - The municipality of Bulakan, Bulacan has officially launched its 24/7 CCTV Surveillance Monitoring System project, in support of government efforts to promote peace and order in the locality. During a special event held at the Municipal Hall Plaza on the 5th of May 2016, Bulakan Mayor Patrick Meneses and key officials unveiled the project to the citizens of Bulakan.

In his opening statement, Vice-Mayor Alberto Bituin expressed pride over the fact the Bulakan has taken a big step towards the modernization of security. "The surveillance monitoring system we now have here in Bulakan will give us eyes everywhere, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This puts us in a much better position to implement our laws and protect ourselves from criminal elements," he said.

As a highlight of the event, Mayor Meneses gave the audience an overview of the ongoing crime problem being faced not just by Bulakan, but the entire nation. He explained how the surveillance monitoring project is crucial to addressing the local crime problem and improve the safety and security of the locals.

"We believe that surveillance technologies of today play an important part in fighting crime and ensuring fast response when help is needed. In the same way that countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan are addressing security concerns with increased surveillance, we want to be offering the same level of security to all Bulakenos," Meneses said.

In partnership with One Touch Communications, international-standard CCTV cameras have been installed in 20 of the municipality's busiest roads and locations. Various types of CCTVs including PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras for wide-area coverage and cameras with night-zoom capabilities are strategically positioned across Bulakan's 14 rural and urban barangays.

At the center of this CCTV network is a command center now in full operation within the premises of the Municipal Hall. Here authorities will be conducting round-the-clock, simultaneous, and real-time monitoring. It will also serve as a communication and dispatch system for emergency deployments.
