Follow on Google News | Explore the Benefits of Self-Publishing at the Next Writers Resource Center's WorkshopGet an in-depth look at the new trend in publishing - self-publishing - at the next Writers Resource Center's workshop.
By: Writers Resource Center "The trend in publishing is a move away from the use of big publishing companies," says Bess. "More authors than ever are now using all of the available computer software, marketing, and promotion resources to publish and sell their own books. And, the large companies are taking notice - they're setting up self-publishing subsidiaries to meet the demand." The meeting will also include a point-of-view dialogue writing exercise and a homework assignment. Attendees should bring their own writing materials and/or electronic devices. The workshop is part of WRC's year-long "Developing Authors Series," which covers all aspects of writing and publishing both fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. For more information on WRC, its activities and how to get involved, please visit the group's website at www.wrcnoca.com. About the Writers Resource Center The Writers Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2003 by Janie P. Bess, an author, recipient of a California state honors award from Assembly Member Susan Bonilla, and member of the National Association of Professional Women. The group offers resources for both the aspiring and accomplished writer, including workshops, presentations at local, regional and national conferences, and information on how to find an agent or publisher. It is an affiliate of the Independent Book Publishing Association (IBPA), a national organization that provides an array of services for indie authors and publishers. # End
