AMSTERDAM - May 10, 2016 - PRLog -- A new case file is opened on the popular genre that's facing a current threat of antiquity. Fans may cry out. Amateur sleuths may arm themselves with glue guns and needlepoints. And beloved cat and dog sidekicks may cower in corners. But there's no need for tea shops and bakeries to hang their Closed signs. There is hope in resuscitating the weakening heart of literature.

"Cozies can be more than knitting grannies, kittens, and cookbooks". The Digital Age Cozyembodies all the usual characteristics of the genre but entails an all-important upgrade. In this brand of cozies, the characters utilize technology to commit or solve the crimes. The novels contain individual QR codes, in which readers can scan to accompanying websites and characters' social media profiles.

Veenman's Marjorie Garden Mystery series are modern, tech-based novels featuring a dynamic career woman with Italian roots, and her love interest of Punjabi descent. A diversified Leading Woman- and Man take center stage in this newly outfitted cozy mystery series and will appeal to a younger demographic of men and women.

The first Digital Age Cozy released is Dial QR for Murder. Isis Ferrelli represents Norman Kane, an RN accused of stealing a drug called fentanol via his QR code software. She receives what she believes to be damaging evidence from mob boss Louis Fernoza. Uncle Lou has found her after seven years in hiding.

If that didn't ruin her day, the assistant district attorney informs her Kane's been murdered.  She has some outmaneuvering to do, if Uncle Lou's involved. To avoid detection by his foot soldiers, she forms a virtual battalion of her own.

A few of her neighbors are also her MyThugShot.com followers. She'll need their help to pull the plug on a tech savvy killer.

Photographs of a club, a Neiman Marcus loafer, and a programmer with two names.

If Isis doesn't piece these clues together, someone encrypted by the shadows of technology may get away with murder.

The Cozy Mystery has been hacked... Don't run your antivirus software.

Dial QR for Murder is available on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Dial-Murder-Marjorie-Gardens-Mystery-ebook/dp/B015P3SKXK) and through all major online book retailers.
