The Passion Profit Co. publishes The Obama Legacy We-Write of the Greatest American Presidency

Anticipating a media whitewash and re-write of Obama's significance, author crowd funds a people's "we-write" of 44th presidency and administration's achievements

NEW YORK - May 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Author, Walt Goodridge, fears the American media won't be fair and balanced when it comes to documenting the significance of Barack Obama's presidency. He has researched, compiled and intends to publish what he calls a pre-emptive, crowd-funded, people-produced history book of the over 300 acts, laws, and achievements of the two-term Obama administration called The Obama Legacy We-Write of the Greatest American Presidency.

"A 'we-write' is simply history written by we the people," explains Goodridge, founder of the Obama Legacy We-Write Book Project. "More often than not, history has been a "re-write" by those with their own agenda. Obama is one of the world's greatest statesmen--with a poise, grace, and intelligence unmatched in modern American politics. He's had major accomplishments that have been under-reported for various reasons, including the reality that America simply has not had experience humanizing and glorifying black male achievements.  We can't allow pundits, politicians and producers to determine how we and our children remember this presidency. We have to take action before that happens."

Goodridge cites among the 300, universal health care, the demise of Osama Bin Laden, gay rights, female supreme court justices, improved US-Cuba relations, the Nobel Peace Prize and troop withdrawal as positives that, even in light of the negatives (drone strikes, deportations, corporate wrist slaps and Guantanamo) as evidence his successes to correct historical inequalities, improve access to wealth and health, and sustain the environment, distinguish this presidency as one of, if not, the greatest ever.

"This book is about documenting a legacy not just for us adults, but for our children and those not alive or too young to appreciate this historic presidency," Goodridge adds. The book includes child-friendly "history rhymes" for each accomplishment that even adults, will find useful. On an early page describing his first official act, we read 'The first act that Obama signed  Was January 29, 2009  And now in Lilly's name we say With equal work comes equal pay.' "Imagine your child knowing by heart not only when 'Columbus sailed the ocean blue,' but also when Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act!" he adds.

The 150-page, full color book (paperback/hardcover) is available for pre-order (ships August 1 2015) at www.obamalegacybook.com. The Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign ends June 3. Contribute at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2142465300/the-obama-...
