TCC Announces 25th Anniversary Celebration Weekend in June 2016
TCC will kick off its celebratory weekend on Friday, June 3rd with a reception and dinner at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in Downtown Tulsa. That evening will be filled with the presentation of a legacy of the organization coupled with happy hour beginning at 5:30pm. There will be a special appearance of the Tulsa Children's Chorus as well. Dinner will be served at 7:30 and a silent auction will follow. Live entertainment for the evening will be provided by Jambalaya Jazz Band. Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.tulsacchorus.org/
The following evening on Saturday, June 4, the Tulsa Children's Chorus will present its 25th Anniversary Spring Concert at Trinity Episcopal Church in Downtown Tulsa. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm and will feature the world premier of Swing Song (A Jazz Suite), a commissioned piece for TCC's 25th Anniversary by nationally-acclaimed jazz composer Mac Huff. Other music will include Mary Had a Little Blues, Kyrie by Andrea Klouse, the choir's signature piece, Bist Du Bei Mir by J.S. Bach and many more. Tulsa Children's Chorus will also have its brand-new 25th Anniversary CD available for purchase. This concert is free and open to the public.
Founded in 1991 by Ginny LeDoux, the Tulsa Children's Chorus continues its mission today under the direction of Charlotte Blakely of providing children and youth from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn and perform choral music in a professional setting. Come and help us celebrate the beginning of 25 more successful years!
