Mr. McFunny Responds to Boaty McBoatface Debate

By: Richard Seidman

ASHLAND, Ore. - May 6, 2016 - PRLog -- Maximillian McFunny, also known as Mr. McFunny, has released a public statement regarding "Boaty McBoatface," the popular name suggested for a new U.K. polar research ship. McFunny is the host of "Mr. McFunny's Sports Joke Books for Kids."

"The British public voted for Boaty McBoatface," McFunny said. "No offense to Sir Attenborough, but it doesn't seem fair for humorless bureaucrats to sink the Boaty name."

Mr. McFunny is the creation of author, Richard Seidman, and illustrator, Curt Evans, both of Ashland, Oregon. In the spirit of Boaty McBoatface, McFunny shared these nautical jokes to cheer the spirits of McBoatface supporters around the world:

Q.  Why do government officials tend to avoid arguments when it comes to naming  sailing vessels?

A.  They don't want to make waves.

Q.  What's the difference between a ship captain and a merchant?

B.  One sails and the other sells.

Q.  Where do sailors go to the bathroom?

A.  On the poop deck.

Asked if he would ever like a boat to be named after him, Mr. McFunny responded, "Hmmn?'The Mr. McFunny?' I like it! I like it! But it's still not as good as 'Boaty McBoatface."

Seidman is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to publish the first four books in the McFunny sports joke book series. For more information or to make a pledge, see http:// www.McFunnyBooks.com.
