VCPWA to demonstrate state's first application of precast pervious concrete panels

New low maintenance technology conserves water, recharges aquifers, reduces polluted runoff

VENTURA, Calif. - May 6, 2016 - PRLog -- The Ventura Public Works Agency will demonstrate California's first installation of precast pervious concrete slabs, a type of pavement that is porous enough to filter storm water, capture pollutants, reduce flooding and runoff to the ocean and re-charge underground aquifers with much-needed water. The demonstration will also mark the first time the agency has introduced its technology to contractors, engineers, architects and other professionals.

When:  Friday, May 20, noon PDT (demonstrations for engineers, contractors and architects); Ribbon Cutting begins at 1 p.m.

Where: Rio Plaza Elementary School, 3280 Balboa St., El Rio, California

Note: Demonstration of the panels can be arranged including discussion covering the advantages of precast installations as opposed to poured in-place techniques.
