Since she published her trilogy several years ago, she has come even further along the road of healing, and has moved into a deeper, more reflective perspective on the whole gender issue within herself. The lens she is looking through now is not so much of an explicit, biographical, recounting of the abuse that she experienced. Rather, it is a progressive, retrospective understanding of how devastating, disabling, and painful Gender Trauma was for her, and how the gaping wounds that came from it affected every area of her life. Now, she also has an internal overview of how these wounds gradually healed through the inner work that she has done.

Gabriel Orion Marie, (Veronica C. Wanchena) is an author and artist. She has written and spoken to individuals and to groups in order share her personal story of being a woman who survived severe sexual abuse and incest during childhood.

Her desire is to share with others how she embarked upon an epic healing journey that saved her life and restored her sanity. This journey included an unexpected method of communicating and healing from the inexpressible by drawing and painting with an enlightened witness as her guide.

She is available as a guest presenter on a variety of topics related to the recovery of abuse through art. Her next speaking engagement is September 16, 2016 at the NorCata 2016 West Coast Conference: New Landscapes in Art Therapy.
